Why This Page Exists

The problem with getting a pet out of LAX

Anyone who has landed at Los Angeles International with an animal knows the pattern. You request a rideshare, the driver sees a crate on the curb, and the trip is cancelled. You request another. Same result. You are standing outside Terminal 4 with a stressed animal, luggage, and a fare that climbs every time the app reassigns you.

The cause is structural, not personal. On a rideshare platform the driver owns the vehicle and accepts the trip before knowing what is in it, so refusing a pet is the rational choice for them and the risk sits entirely with you. Pet-friendly toggles help, but they are opt-in, sparse at 1 a.m., and no guarantee the specific driver who accepts will honour them.

A chauffeur service inverts that. When you book a pet friendly car service at LAX with us, the animal is on the dispatch record. The vehicle is assigned because it suits your animal, the chauffeur is briefed before leaving, and there is no decision left to make at the curb. That is the entire difference, and it is why people book this rather than gamble on an app.

$25 Flat pet fee, charged once per reservation — not per animal, not per hour, not per leg of a round trip booked together.
Quoted up front The fee appears in your quote before you confirm. Nothing is added to your card after the ride.
No breed or size limit Great Danes, three cats, a parrot in a travel cage. Tell us what is coming and we send a vehicle that fits it.
Accessibility

Service animals ride free, every time

This is not a policy we chose. It is the law, and we follow it.

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, a trained service animal accompanying a person with a disability is not a pet. It travels free, it needs no advance notice, it is welcome in every vehicle we operate, and no chauffeur may refuse the ride or charge extra for it.

You do not need to send documentation, register the animal, or explain your disability to book. If it is easier for you to mention the animal when booking so we allocate a vehicle with more floor space, you are welcome to — but it is your choice, not a requirement, and the fare does not change either way.

Emotional support animals are different. We carry them gladly, but the ADA does not classify them as service animals, so the standard $25 pet fee applies. Book it as a pet ride and everything else works the same.

Choosing a Vehicle

Which car suits your animal

Every class below accepts pets. The difference is floor space, cargo depth, and how many humans are travelling with the animal.

Best for small animals

Mercedes-Benz S-Class

A cat or a small dog in a soft carrier travels comfortably on the rear floor or beside you on the seat. Quiet cabin, smooth ride, ideal for an animal that reacts badly to engine and road noise. Up to three passengers.

Best for one or two large dogs

Cadillac Escalade ESV

The extended-length Escalade gives a large dog real cargo depth behind the third row, or a full bench if you fold it down. Enough room that a Labrador can lie flat rather than sit braced for two hours. Up to six passengers.

Best for pets plus heavy luggage

Chevrolet Suburban

Choose this when the animal and the suitcases are competing for the same space. Deeper cargo area than a standard SUV, so crates sit flat and bags do not end up wedged against your dog. Up to six passengers, eight bags.

Best for multiple animals or crates

Mercedes Sprinter Van

A relocation with three animals, a breeder transport, or a family moving to Los Angeles with the whole household. Standing height, flat floor, and space to secure several crates side by side. Up to fourteen passengers.

How It Works

Booking a pet ride, start to finish

  1. Tell us what is travelling. Species, rough size, and whether the animal will be in a carrier or loose. That single detail decides the vehicle, and it is the only thing we need that a normal booking does not ask for.
  2. Get a flat quote including the pet fee. The $25 is shown before you confirm, alongside the fare. No surge pricing, no per-mile surprises, no post-trip adjustment.
  3. Give us the flight number. We track the arrival, so a delay moves your pickup automatically. This matters more with an animal than without one, because a pet that has been in transit for six hours should not then wait for a car that arrived on the original schedule.
  4. Meet your chauffeur. Choose curbside on the arrivals level, or meet and greet inside baggage claim if you have a crate and hands full. The chauffeur already knows an animal is coming.
  5. Take a relief stop if you need one. LAX has designated animal relief areas, and our LAX pet relief area guide maps where they are, terminal by terminal. Say so at pickup and the stop is built into the ride rather than rushed.
  6. Ride together. Your animal stays with you in the cabin for the whole trip, whether that is fifteen minutes to Westchester or two hours to the desert.
Not Just Airport Runs

Other pet trips we run across Los Angeles

Veterinary and specialist appointments. A chauffeured ride to a veterinary hospital is the calmer option when an animal is unwell, sedated, or recovering from a procedure, and it means whoever is caring for the animal is not also driving. Book hourly service if you want the car to wait rather than arranging two separate trips.

Boarding and grooming. Drop-off before a trip and pickup on return, timed to your flight, so the animal is collected the same day you land rather than spending an extra night boarded.

Relocation. Households moving into or out of Los Angeles with several animals. A Sprinter carries crates, carriers, and people in one vehicle, which is usually less traumatic than splitting animals across two cars.

Long-distance transfers. The desert and the coast are the two most requested. See LAX to Palm Springs, LAX to San Diego, and LAX to Santa Barbara for those routes. Each is a single private vehicle, door to door, with your animal beside you rather than in a cargo hold.

Questions

Pet travel FAQs

Yes. Every vehicle in our fleet accepts pets when the ride is booked as a pet ride. We are not a rideshare app where each driver decides on arrival — the vehicle is dispatched knowing your animal is coming, so nobody can refuse you at the curb.
A flat $25 per reservation. It is per booking, not per animal and not per hour, so two dogs on one trip is still $25. The fee is quoted up front with your fare, never added afterwards.
A carrier is not required. Small animals are most comfortable in one, and large dogs usually travel better loose in the rear cargo area of an SUV or Sprinter with a blanket down. Tell us which you are planning when you book so we send the right vehicle.
No. Trained service animals are never charged a pet fee, never need advance notice, and are welcome in every vehicle. That is federal law under the Americans with Disabilities Act and we follow it without exception.
Emotional support animals are genuinely welcome, and we will carry yours. They are not classified as service animals under the ADA, so the standard $25 pet fee applies. Please book it as a pet ride so the vehicle is prepared.
Yes. LAX has designated animal relief areas — our LAX pet relief area guide lists them by terminal — and a short stop on the way to the car is expected on a pet booking. Let your chauffeur know at pickup so the timing is built in rather than eating into your ride.
A full-size SUV such as an Escalade ESV or Suburban for one or two large dogs, or a Mercedes Sprinter if you have several animals, crates, or a full family with luggage as well. A sedan works for a small animal in a carrier.
Yes. Pet rides are not limited to the airport. We run vet appointments, boarding drop-offs and pickups, and relocation trips across Los Angeles. Hourly service is available if you want the chauffeur to wait rather than book two separate trips.
We track your flight number, so the car is timed to your actual landing rather than your scheduled one. If you are delayed there is no change to your fare and no waiting charge on a tracked arrival.
Yes. Long-distance pet transfers are one of the most common reasons people call us, because most alternatives are either a cramped rideshare or an airline cargo hold. See our LAX to Palm Springs and LAX to San Diego routes for those transfers.
