What “as-directed” actually means
“As-directed” means the passenger keeps control of the route and schedule for the whole booking. You are not buying a trip from one point to another; you reserve a chauffeur and vehicle for a block of time and direct them as the day unfolds.
As-directed, by-the-hour and standby describe the same service from different angles. The clock starts at the pickup time you choose.
Hourly rates by vehicle
Online bookings start at 4 hours for every vehicle. The 4-hour totals below are before the optional gratuity:
- Comfort Sedan: $80/hr, $320 for 4 hours
- Luxury SUV: $120/hr, $480 for 4 hours
- Escalade Elite: $130/hr, $520 for 4 hours
- Executive Sedan: $135/hr plus $25 once, $565 for 4 hours
- Mercedes Sprinter: $175/hr, $700 for 4 hours
Planning your hours
Count from the first pickup to the last drop-off, then add a little for traffic. A dinner with two venues is usually 4 hours; a full day of meetings across Los Angeles is usually 8 to 10. For a shorter need, a one-way ride is usually the better fit.

How is as-directed different from point-to-point?
Point-to-point is a single pickup and drop-off that ends on arrival. As-directed keeps the car and chauffeur with you for a block of time, for as many stops and changes as you like.
How is the cost calculated?
The hourly rate for the vehicle times the hours you book: $80 an hour in a Comfort Sedan up to $175 in a Mercedes Sprinter, with the full total shown before you pay. Time beyond the block is billed at the same rate. Gratuity is optional, with 20% preselected at checkout.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
Yes. Online bookings start at 4 hours for every vehicle, in blocks of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 15 hours.
Are there per-stop fees?
No. Your reserved hourly time is what you pay for, however many stops you make inside the block.
Can I change destinations during the ride?
Yes. That is the point of as-directed service: tell your chauffeur where to go next and the plan changes with you.
What happens if I go over my booked time?
Ask your chauffeur to extend. Subject to availability, extra time is billed at the same hourly rate.
