- Have your QR-code ticket ready in the AXS app for the vehicle checkpoint. Guests attending the Governors Gala should also have their Gala ticket ready. Transportation reservations do not include admission.

- After the Governors Gala
- The published limousine pickup point is Gilbert Lindsay Plaza at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 Figueroa, Los Angeles, CA 90015. The rideshare pickup point is a different location.
- Roads in force that night
- Road work on Figueroa between Pico and the 10 Freeway overpass, and on Venice between Figueroa and Convention Center Drive, runs through September 25. Pico between Figueroa and L.A. LIVE Way is fully closed until 2028.
- Oversized vehicles
- Peacock Theater recommends arranging oversized-vehicle parking about ten days before an event because space is limited, and directs operators of limousines, buses and RVs to call the venue for a prepaid parking pass. That is a venue parking arrangement, not a booking deadline.

How the night is planned
A common way to run late at a downtown ceremony is to plan forward from the broadcast time rather than backward from your own call time. The broadcast time is the last thing that should concern you. The two times that matter are the 4:45 PM seating deadline and the 2:00 PM checkpoint opening, and everything else is subtraction from there.
One transfer, or the car for the evening
This is the decision that changes the most on an award night, and it deserves two minutes of thought before you book.
A point-to-point transfer is one movement: a pickup, a destination, a release. It is the right booking when somebody else is handling the return, when different people are dropping you and collecting you, or when the evening genuinely ends at the venue. It is dispatched as a single job, so the chauffeur is released once you arrive.
An hourly reservation holds a chauffeur and a vehicle for a confirmed window. That is precisely what it reserves: a person and a car, for a stated number of hours, exclusively yours. The driver who brought you is the one who comes back, your garment bag and your charger stay in the vehicle, and a schedule that slips by forty minutes does not turn into a new booking at 10 PM. For anyone attending the ceremony and then moving on to the gala or a party, this is almost always the right shape.
Be equally clear about what an hourly reservation does not buy, because that is where expectations break. It does not buy a place to wait. It does not create a right to stand at a particular curb, to enter a controlled area, to park at the venue, or to sit anywhere near the entrance. The vehicle stages only where it is legal and authorized on the night, which on this night may be a long way off, and it comes back to you when you call. Choosing the vehicle
Choose on three things: how many people are actually in the car, what they are wearing, and what has to travel with them. Formalwear moves the answer further than most people expect, because a garment that spent forty minutes folded on a lap arrives looking folded.
Executive sedan
The quiet arrival for a principal travelling light, or for two. Lower profile at a drop-off point, easier to place on a congested street, and room for a small case and an evening bag. The wrong call if a gown or a suit carrier is coming along.
Escalade or full-size SUV
Tall doors and a high seat, which matters when you step out in front of people in a long dress or a fitted jacket. The cargo area takes garment bags lying flat instead of draped over a seat back. The usual choice for a single-principal Emmy movement.
Sprinter
For a team that should arrive together and stay together: a principal, a publicist, a glam team, cases, a steamer and a change of clothes for later. Standing room to fix a look before the door opens. Needs to be raised early, see the note below.

Second, if equipment is travelling, name it. A steamer, a lighting case and a rolling makeup kit are a different loading problem from three overnight bags, and dispatch would rather know that before it assigns the vehicle than after it arrives.

After the telecast
The departure is the harder half of the night, because everyone leaves at once and most of them have not thought about it.
For guests continuing to the Governors Gala, the organizers publish Gilbert Lindsay Plaza at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 Figueroa, Los Angeles, CA 90015, as the limousine pickup point after the gala. That is their instruction, not ours, and it is what your chauffeur will be working to unless staff on the night direct otherwise. The rideshare pickup point is a separate location. The two are easy to confuse, and sorting it out on the night means walking further than you expected, so agree with everyone travelling with you which one they are heading for before the evening starts.
If the night runs past the gala to an after-party, that is a reason to have booked hourly, not a reason to look for a second car at midnight. Give dispatch the party address when you book even if attendance is still uncertain, and give a release time later than the one you expect to need. A window that ends too early is the most common avoidable problem of the evening.
Two contacts make the departure work: a day-of number the chauffeur can reach when the schedule moves, and a release contact who can say the night is over. On a night with this much movement, one person holding both roles inside the venue with a phone on silent is how a car ends up circling.

Dispatch sets the exact time once it has your call time and your stops. Nobody can promise a travel time across Los Angeles on a Monday afternoon, so the plan carries slack rather than a guess.
Can the chauffeur wait through the ceremony?
That is what an hourly reservation is for. An hourly booking reserves a chauffeur and a vehicle for a confirmed window, so the same car and the same driver come back for you. It does not reserve a place to wait. The vehicle stages only where it is legal and authorized on the night, which may be a considerable distance from the venue, and it returns when you call. Event staff, venue staff, DOT, law enforcement and posted signage control where any vehicle may stop.
Does booking a car include carpet access, credentials or parking?
