Quick Answer

LAX town car service is a chauffeured executive sedan booked in advance at a flat rate. Lux4Rides runs Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-Class sedans seating up to 3 passengers with 2 to 3 large bags. Rates from LAX start at $95 to Beverly Hills or Santa Monica. Your chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you curbside, or inside at baggage claim on request.

The honest answer: the Town Car is gone, the service is not

People still search for a town car to LAX, and it is a fair thing to ask for. The Lincoln Town Car itself stopped production in 2011, so nobody is picking you up in one. What the phrase means today is the service it stood for: a black, chauffeur-driven sedan, booked in advance at an agreed price, waiting when you land. That is exactly what this is. You will ride in a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or E-Class rather than a Lincoln, which is a quieter and considerably more comfortable car.

Quick facts

Vehicle Mercedes-Benz S-Class or E-Class
Passengers Up to 3
Luggage 2–3 large cases
From LAX Flat rate from $95
Pickup Curbside, or baggage claim on request
Flight delay Tracked; pickup moves, price does not

What you actually get

A late-model black executive sedan and a chauffeur who is already at the airport when your flight lands. The rate is quoted and confirmed in writing before the day, so it does not move with traffic, demand or the hour. You are sent the chauffeur’s name and number before pickup rather than being matched to whoever happens to be nearby. There is no surge, no LAX-it shuttle and no queue.

Town car or SUV: which one you need

A sedan is the right call for one or two people with normal luggage, and it is the least expensive way to travel privately. Choose an SUV instead when you are three or more, when there are car seats, or when the luggage is bulky — golf clubs, ski bags, film equipment, a stroller. If you are unsure, tell us the passenger count and the bags when you book and we will tell you honestly which one fits. Booking a sedan and discovering the cases do not go in is nobody’s idea of a good arrival.

Meeting your chauffeur at LAX

The default is a curbside pickup on the Arrivals level at your terminal, which is the fastest way out of the airport. For an international arrival, a first visit, an elderly passenger or anyone travelling alone late at night, ask for a meet and greet instead: the chauffeur parks, comes inside to baggage claim with a name board, and handles the bags from there. Say which you want when you book, because they start in different places.

LAX Town Car Service FAQ

In practice, yes. Both mean a prearranged, chauffeur-driven vehicle at an agreed price, as opposed to a taxi or a rideshare. "Town car" is the older phrase and comes from the Lincoln Town Car; "black car" is the term the industry uses now. You get the same thing either way.

No, and neither does anyone else — Lincoln stopped building them in 2011. The modern equivalent is a full-size executive sedan, and we run Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-Class. They are quieter, safer and considerably more comfortable than the car the phrase refers to.

Up to 3 passengers with 2 to 3 large cases. Four or more people, or bulky luggage, needs an SUV. Tell us the passenger and bag count when you book and we will confirm which vehicle actually fits before you travel.

Sedan rates from LAX start at $95 to Beverly Hills or Santa Monica, $105 to Downtown or Hollywood, and $145 to Anaheim. The rate is flat, quoted before the day, and does not change with traffic or demand.

Yes. Ask for a meet and greet when you book and the chauffeur will be waiting in baggage claim with a name board. The default is a curbside pickup on the Arrivals level, which is quicker if you are travelling light.

We track the flight and move the pickup. There is nothing for you to rebook and the price does not change.
