*4 hours for the June 12 opener. SoFi hosts 5 group-stage matches, 2 Round-of-32 matches and a Quarterfinal. Check FIFA.com for kickoff times.

The one thing everyone gets wrong: on match days, the SoFi Stadium / Hollywood Park perimeter closes to all general vehicle traffic. No car — rideshare or private — pulls up to the gate. Every road option ends at a designated drop zone outside the perimeter plus a walk. The difference between options is where you're dropped, what it costs, and how painful the ride home is.

Your four ways in (honestly compared)

1. LA Metro match-day shuttles Cheapest — $1.75

Metro runs direct buses to SoFi from roughly 15 rail and bus hubs across LA County — including Union Station downtown, plus Westside, Valley and South Bay connection points. Service starts 4 hours before kickoff, runs as often as every 10 minutes, and continues until about 90 minutes after the final whistle.

  • Cost: ~$1.75 each way (parking at your origin station costs extra).
  • Best for: solo fans, budget travelers, anyone staying near a Metro hub.
  • Watch out: post-match queues are long, and the 90-minute service window after the match is real — extra time celebrations cut it close.

2. Driving yourself $200–250+ parking

Stadium-area parking must be pre-booked and has been listed at $200–$250+ for World Cup matches; nearby private lots aren't much cheaper. Caltrans is actively telling Angelenos to take transit instead, and the I-405 corridor near Inglewood has been seeing 2+ hour delays within 3 hours of kickoff.

  • Best for: groups arriving very early and staying very late.
  • Watch out: exit queues after the match routinely take over an hour; tailgating rules differ from NFL games.

3. Rideshare Surge roulette

Uber/Lyft drop at designated zones outside the closed perimeter — expect a substantial walk. Getting there is the easy half: after the match, tens of thousands of phones request cars at once. Surge pricing on big SoFi event nights has historically multiplied fares several times over, with long pickup-zone queues on top.

  • Best for: small groups on a moderate budget who don't mind the post-match scramble.
  • Watch out: your $40 ride in can become a $150+ ride out, plus a 45-minute wait at the pickup lot.

4. Private chauffeur Flat rate, planned exit

A licensed chauffeur service can't drive through the perimeter either — nobody can. What it changes is everything around that fact: a flat rate agreed before match day (zero surge), a driver who pre-plans the drop point and the exact pickup meeting spot, monitors the match clock, and is staged before the crowd moves. You walk out, walk to a known corner, and leave.

  • Best for: groups of 3–13 (SUV/Sprinter splits well), hotel-based visitors, anyone with a flight after the match.
  • Watch out: book early — match-day fleets across LA will sell out, especially the Quarterfinal.

Leave-by guide (road options, by area)

Estimates for arriving ~90 minutes before kickoff on a match day, based on reported match-day congestion. Add buffer for the opener and the Quarterfinal.

Coming fromNormal driveMatch day — leave at least
LAX-area hotels15 min2.5 hrs before kickoff
Downtown LA30 min3.5 hrs before kickoff
Beverly Hills / West Hollywood35 min3.5–4 hrs before kickoff
Santa Monica30 min3.5–4 hrs before kickoff
Pasadena / Valley45 min4 hrs before kickoff
Anaheim / Orange County50 min4–4.5 hrs before kickoff
Road closure reality: the closure footprint around Hollywood Park (Century Blvd / Prairie Ave area) expands as kickoff approaches. Whatever your option, the closer to kickoff you travel, the further out your drop point effectively becomes.

World Cup 2026 · Match-Day Charter

Book an 8–10 Hour Minimum for a Smooth Match Day

For FIFA World Cup 2026, we recommend reserving your Lux4Rides chauffeur as an 8 to 10 hour minimum charter — it is the smoothest, lowest-stress way to handle a match day in Los Angeles. One private chauffeur and vehicle stay with you from your door to the stadium and all the way home.

  • Door-to-door pickup from your home or hotel — no rideshare scramble and no surge pricing on match day.
  • Driven to the stadium — SoFi Stadium in Inglewood and the other Los Angeles–area venues — and dropped at the closest permitted access point.
  • Your chauffeur waits on-site through the entire match, so your private car is ready the moment you walk out — no waiting for a ride in a crowd of 70,000.
  • Returned wherever you want afterward — back to the hotel, on to dinner, or a celebration — and you are welcome to add stops as long as you stay within your booked hours.

The 8–10 hour block covers pickup, the drive in, on-site waiting, and the return, so a single chauffeur handles your full match day. Larger groups ride together in a Cadillac Escalade SUV or a Mercedes Sprinter van.
