From Los Angeles or LAX it is about 130 miles on the I-10, two to two and a half hours in normal traffic and longer on festival afternoons. Palm Springs International Airport is 35 to 45 minutes away. Fares are calculated by vehicle and distance and shown before you pay.
Stagecoach parties tend to be big. A Mercedes Sprinter seats up to 14, so one vehicle carries the whole group, the cost per seat is the lowest of any class on a long run, and nobody is waiting for the second car at the end of the night. Cadillac Escalades carry up to six with boots and bags; sedans suit one to three.
The festival controls where cars stop: a black-car area for services with a festival vehicle pass, a public pick-up and drop-off zone and a rideshare lot, with locations and hours it publishes near the dates. Your chauffeur confirms the drop-off and the meeting point for the return before the day. Camping and RV areas have their own vehicle rules set by the festival; tell dispatch if your party is camping so the right drop-off is planned.
Many groups stay in Indio, La Quinta or Palm Springs and have a car held by the hour between the hotel and the grounds on each day, with one chauffeur throughout. A same-night return to Los Angeles after the Sunday headliner means a 2:30 to 3:30 am arrival.
