What the season includes
In Disneyland Park: A Christmas Fantasy Parade with Santa, Haunted Mansion Holiday, the "Believe… In Holiday Magic" fireworks with a sprinkling of snow, "it's a small world" Holiday and its nightly façade lighting, and Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle. In Disney California Adventure: World of Color – Season of Light, Disney Festival of Holidays with its food marketplace, Disney ¡Viva Navidad!, the Buena Vista Street tree lighting, and holiday versions of Luigi's and Mater's rides in Cars Land. Downtown Disney District is decorated and open to everyone without a ticket.
Santa meets guests from November 13 to December 24. Disney publishes a holiday foodie guide and dining packages (including a parade dining package at Plaza Inn) closer to the season; the official page ↗ carries the current list.
Tickets and park reservations
This is not a separately ticketed party. You need a valid theme park ticket or Magic Key and a theme park reservation for the date you visit; Disney states reservations are limited and not guaranteed. Buy tickets and make the reservation on the official site before you book a car, and check the park hours calendar for your date, since hours and entertainment schedules vary.
Disney was offering up to 20% off select Disneyland Resort hotel stays of three nights or more for stays between October 11 and December 18, 2026, when we checked on October 10. Conditions apply; see Disney's offer page for the current terms. Lux4Rides is not affiliated with Disney and does not sell admission.
Families: children, strollers and bags
Tell us each child's age and weight when you book. A rear-facing seat, a convertible seat or a booster is $25 each per ride, up to three of each, and the chauffeur installs it before leaving for your pickup, never at the curb. Strollers fold into the cargo area, but they take space: a Luxury SUV carries 7 passengers and 6 bags, the Escalade Elite 6 and 5, a sedan 3 and 3. If your party is near a limit, take the bigger vehicle.
Younger children often finish before the fireworks. If that is likely, an hourly booking lets you leave when they are done instead of waiting for a set pickup time.
Getting there: where a car can drop you off and pick you up
Disney asks everyone to use its official pick-up and drop-off locations. For the theme parks, that is the Harbor Boulevard drop-off area, entered from the right southbound lane of South Harbor Boulevard between South Manchester Avenue and Disney Way. For Downtown Disney District, the drop-off area is reached from Magic Way off Disneyland Drive, then left on Downtown Drive. Both areas allow a brief stop (Disney gives a 15-minute grace period, after which standard parking rates apply) and neither allows a vehicle to park or wait unattended.
In practice: your chauffeur drops you at the Harbor Boulevard area in the morning, and in the evening you message the chauffeur when you are walking out so the car arrives as you reach the pickup area. A chauffeur on an hourly booking stages nearby where waiting is permitted; no car can hold a spot at the entrance. Staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel or a Harbor Boulevard hotel? Pickups happen at the hotel's motor lobby, which is simpler for families with strollers.
- Driving yourself: Disney's standard theme park parking is $40 per car and preferred parking $60, at the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals structures and the Toy Story lot, with trams or a walk to the gates.
- From LAX: about 35 miles; allow 60 to 90 minutes in holiday traffic. Our LAX to Disneyland page has the terminal detail and flight tracking.
- From John Wayne Airport (SNA): the closest airport to the resort and a much shorter drive than LAX.
- From Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Pasadena or the Valley: enter your address in the booking form; the fare is set by the mapped distance.
Timing the day
Holiday crowds build from mid-morning. Being dropped at the Harbor Boulevard area before park opening avoids both the parking-structure queue and the tram. Nightly shows end close to closing time, and the exit crowd lasts 30 to 45 minutes; a chauffeur who is already staged nearby saves the family a wait at the curb. If you plan dinner at Downtown Disney or on Harbor Boulevard after the fireworks, add it as a stop on an hourly booking rather than a second ride.
