What the season includes
Knott's dresses the whole park for the season: thousands of lights, themed garland, oversized snowflakes and winter settings. The headline shows are Home for the Holidays, a musical revue with dancing toys and falling snow on a transforming stage, and the return of the Peanuts ice show with Snoopy and a cast of skaters. Calico hosts a Christmas Crafts Village and the Snow and Glow experience set to holiday music; children can visit Santa's Christmas Cabin; and there is a nightly Parkwide Holiday Lighting Moment. Seasonal food, such as the Meatball Hoagie with Cranberry Gastrique, is sold only at this time of year.
Knott's publishes showtimes in the Six Flags app and on its park-hours calendar, and both the hours and the entertainment change by date. Look up your day before you set a pickup time, and expect the lighting moment to pull a crowd into Ghost Town just after dusk.
Tickets and admission
Merry Farm is not a separately ticketed event. Knott's states that live shows, light displays, select activities and most rides are included with park admission, while food, drink, merchandise and select holiday experiences require a separate purchase. A daily ticket or a Knott's season pass valid for your date gets you in; a Scary Farm ticket from October does not transfer. Knott's Merry Farm page does not show a daily-ticket price, so buy on the official site ↗ and read the date-based total there. Lux4Rides is not affiliated with Knott's and sells transportation only.
Families: children, strollers and bags
Tell us each child's age and weight when you book. A rear-facing seat, a convertible seat or a booster is $25 each per ride, up to three of each, installed before the chauffeur leaves for your pickup. Strollers go in the cargo area: a Luxury SUV carries 7 passengers and 6 bags, an Escalade Elite 6 and 5, a Comfort Sedan 3 and 3, and a Mercedes Sprinter takes up to 14 when booked online, which suits two families travelling together from Irvine or Newport Beach.
If you would rather not bring a stroller, Knott's rents them inside the park: $17 for a single and $22 for a double, plus tax, with wheelchairs at $25 manual and $60 electric. A late-afternoon arrival for lights and shows suits a family with a preschooler, and an hourly booking lets you leave when they fade.
Getting there: the loading zone, parking and pickup at Knott's
Knott's Berry Farm is at 8039 Beach Blvd, Buena Park, CA 90620. Knott's own directions page says that Lyft, Uber and other car-sharing apps drop guests at the Main Entrance loading zone; a chauffeured car uses the same zone, which is the cleanest handover for a family with a stroller. For the return, you message the chauffeur as you leave the gates and meet at the loading zone; a car cannot sit there, so on an hourly booking the chauffeur stages nearby where waiting is permitted and pulls in when you are walking out.
Driving yourself: Knott's publishes $40 for standard car parking, $45 for buses and RVs and $60 for the Grand Preferred Lot nearest the park, and notes that special-event nights may be priced differently. Lots open about an hour before the park. The metered lot by the California Marketplace is for shop and restaurant customers (free for the first hour, then $10 per half hour), not a place for a car to wait. The park is cashless, including parking.
- From LAX: Knott's puts the drive at about 30 minutes without traffic; plan 60 to 90 minutes on a holiday evening. Our LAX to Knott's page covers terminal pickup and flight tracking; inside-terminal meet and greet is $60 per booking.
- From John Wayne Airport (SNA): about 20 minutes by Knott's estimate, the closest airport for Orange County visitors.
- From Los Angeles, Beverly Hills or Pasadena: the 5 to Beach Boulevard; enter your address in the booking form and the fare is set by the mapped distance.
- From Anaheim or an Anaheim Resort hotel: a short ride up Beach Boulevard, which makes an hourly booking that also covers dinner good value.
Timing the arrival and the exit
Parking opens about an hour before the park, and the gate queue is shortest then. If you are coming for the lights, a mid-afternoon drop at the loading zone avoids the daytime lot entirely. After the lighting moment and the last ice show, the exit onto Beach Boulevard is the slow part: Knott's empties through one main gate, so a chauffeur who is already staged nearby meets you at the loading zone within minutes of your text instead of joining the queue from the lot.
From Anaheim, Irvine, Newport Beach and Long Beach, an hourly booking from a 4-hour block comfortably covers the drive in, an evening of shows and the drive home. From Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Calabasas or Pasadena, two scheduled transfers usually cost less than paying for the freeway hours, unless you also want a dinner stop on the way back.
