Family Office Transportation in Los Angeles
A single, properly licensed transportation vendor for a Los Angeles family office — covering multiple principals, households, staff and guests under one account, with consolidated billing, certificates of insurance on request, and a dispatch relationship that already knows every standing schedule.
Family offices do not need another car service — they need one vendor that can be approved once and then used by everyone. That means a properly licensed operator (California TCP #40987 through the CPUC, $5M commercial insurance) that will produce a certificate of insurance, sign confidentiality undertakings, and pass a standard vendor review.
Operationally it means one account covering several principals, households, staff and guests, with defined authorised bookers, per-principal preferences and chauffeur assignments held on file, standing schedules that run without being re-requested, and consolidated monthly billing that can be coded and reconciled instead of a scatter of individual receipts.
One dispatch relationship, staffed 24/7, that already knows the schedules — rather than a different phone number for every household.
A Vendor, Not a Series of Bookings
The transportation problem in a family office is rarely about any individual journey. It is that movement is generated by a lot of different people — two or three principals, a spouse, adult children, visiting relatives, house staff, guests, and the occasional business visitor — and each of them tends to solve it separately. The result is several vendors, several standards, no consistent record, and a reconciliation exercise every month built from receipts nobody recognises.
Consolidating that onto one approved vendor fixes the administrative problem and, usually, the service problem at the same time. The operator can be vetted properly once — licensing, insurance, confidentiality — instead of being assessed implicitly every time someone opens an app. Preferences and standing schedules live on the account rather than in one assistant's memory. And the monthly statement arrives itemised, coded and reconcilable.
This page is written for the person doing that consolidation: a chief of staff, an estate or household manager, a family office CFO or controller, or the executive assistant who has ended up owning it. The questions below are the ones that come up in a vendor review, answered directly.
What a family office account includes
| Account structure | One account covering multiple principals, households, staff and guests. |
|---|---|
| Authorised bookers | Defined at set-up — chiefs of staff, executive assistants, estate managers, household managers. |
| Licensing | California TCP #40987 (CPUC), $5M commercial insurance. |
| Certificate of insurance | Available on request for vendor files and estate management review. |
| Confidentiality | Discretion as standard; written undertakings signed where counsel requires them. |
| Billing | Consolidated monthly statements, itemised for coding and reconciliation. |
| Cost allocation | Trips can be tagged by principal, household or purpose for internal allocation. |
| Chauffeur assignment | Consistent per principal wherever scheduling allows, with briefed alternates. |
| Coverage | Greater Los Angeles, Orange County, Southern California, plus intercity runs. |
| What this is not | We supply protection-aware transportation, not protection agents. Chauffeurs work under a client's own security detail where one exists. |
What a Family Office Account Actually Covers
Multiple principals under one account. Each with their own preferences, their own assigned chauffeur where scheduling allows, and their own standing schedule — while the account, the billing and the dispatch relationship remain single.
Household and staff movement. Estate staff, house managers, and the practical logistics of running a property. Routine, unglamorous, and much easier when it is not being arranged through a consumer app each time.
Family and dependants. Adult children, students travelling to and from campus, and family members who need transport arranged for them rather than by them. Where minors are involved, bookings run on the guardian-booked model set out on our teen transportation page — the adult books, the itinerary is confirmed in advance, and chauffeur details are sent before pickup.
Guests and visitors. Relatives arriving for an occasion, business visitors, advisors and colleagues, met at the airport and driven to the same standard the principals receive.
Airport movement. Departures timed to the traffic rather than the clock; arrivals tracked against actual landing with 35 minutes of complimentary wait time from touchdown, and in-terminal meet and greet where it is warranted — the standard choice for international arrivals into Tom Bradley.
Full days on standby. A chauffeur held as-directed for appointments, meetings, fittings and errands, with the car staying nearby between stops. The mechanics are covered on standby car service.
Events and evenings. Galas, openings, dinners, benefits — including guest transport where the office is hosting. Larger movements are handled through our multi-vehicle event transportation and VIP hospitality services.
Intercity and longer runs. Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Las Vegas and the Central Valley, where a private car is frequently more practical than a connection.

For the person running the vendor review
Do this
- Request the certificate of insurance and TCP details for the vendor file.
- Raise any additional-insured or limit requirements during set-up, not later.
- Have confidentiality undertakings reviewed by counsel if that is your policy.
- Name the authorised bookers explicitly and keep the list short.
- Map every principal and household onto the account from the start.
- Agree billing structure and cost-allocation tags before the first month.
Avoid this
- Letting each household run its own separate vendor and receipts.
- Discovering insurance or licensing requirements after the first booking.
- Assuming a chauffeur service provides security — it does not.
- Leaving standing schedules to be re-requested every week.
- Booking event weeks and holiday periods at short notice.
- Reconstructing cost allocation from consumer receipts at month end.
The Vendor Review Questions, Answered
Licensing. Lux4Rides operates as a California charter-party carrier under TCP #40987, issued by the CPUC. We are a licensed livery operator, not a rideshare intermediary, which is also why we are able to meet clients at airport terminals rather than at rideshare staging lots.
Insurance. $5M commercial insurance is carried on the operation, and a certificate of insurance can be issued on request for your vendor file. If your office requires specific additional-insured language or particular limits, raise it during set-up and we will tell you plainly whether we can meet it.
Confidentiality. Discretion is the operating standard: chauffeurs are pre-selected and background-checked, and what is seen or heard in the car is not discussed, repeated or posted. Written confidentiality undertakings are available where your counsel requires them, and many offices do require them — that is routine, not an unusual request.
Chauffeur vetting. Chauffeurs are pre-selected, background-checked professionals who work with us regularly and are briefed on the standards of private client work. They are not gig drivers assigned by an algorithm.
Who is authorised to book. Defined explicitly at set-up. Most offices nominate a small group — a chief of staff, one or two executive assistants, an estate manager — and dispatch will only accept booking changes from that list.
Billing and audit. Consolidated monthly statements, itemised by trip, with trips taggable by principal, household or purpose so costs can be allocated internally. This is generally the single biggest improvement over a mixed set of consumer accounts, because it produces a record that reconciles.
Scope, stated clearly. This is transportation. Our chauffeurs are professional drivers rather than protection agents: we provide protection-aware transportation that operates under a client's own security detail, and we do not supply protection personnel ourselves. Where a family has a security detail, our chauffeurs work alongside it and follow that team's protocols. We would rather be explicit about the boundary than let it be assumed.
Running It Day to Day
Standing schedules. Recurring movement — a weekly office run, a school or campus schedule, a standing airport departure, a regular appointment — is configured once and then runs. Exceptions get handled as exceptions, which means the default consumes no administrative time at all.
Preferences held on file, per principal. Vehicle type, cabin preferences, which entrance, preferred and avoided routes, child seats, whether conversation is welcome. Recorded once so no assistant has to re-brief a driver.
One dispatch relationship. Staffed 24 hours, and familiar with the account rather than starting from scratch. For an assistant, this is usually the practical difference: one number, people who know the names, and no explaining the context before you can make a request.
Short-notice requests. Handled subject to availability, and the 24/7 line means there is always someone to ask rather than a queue to join. Book generously ahead for event weeks and holiday periods, when demand across the city concentrates.
Coordination with existing staff. Assistants coordinate schedules, house managers coordinate access, security teams set protocols, travel managers handle flights. We work inside that structure.
Getting started. Email vip@lux4rides.com or call (424) 209-2006 and ask for a family office account. Expect a conversation covering principals and households, authorised bookers, standing schedules, insurance and confidentiality requirements, and how you want billing structured. Rates and minimum booked hours are agreed in advance and confirmed in writing before anything runs — nothing about the commercial terms is left to be discovered later.

Yes, on the guardian-booked model: a parent or legal guardian holds the reservation, the itinerary and any stops are confirmed in advance, and the chauffeur's name, photo and vehicle details are sent before pickup. It remains transportation rather than childcare or supervision — the detail is set out on our teen transportation page.
Yes, and it is one of the more common uses. Relatives arriving for an occasion, advisors, colleagues and business visitors can all be met at the airport and driven to the same standard the principals receive, billed to the same account.
