Quick answer

When is AFM 2026, where is it, and how do I move between LAX, my hotel and the Fairmont?

AFM 2026 runs November 10–15 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, with screenings at the AMC Century City 15. Market hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Attendee badges start at $345 for a single day in advance. AFM warns that valet parking at the Fairmont is extremely limited. From LAX, a private car to Beverly Hills was $110 in a Comfort Sedan on October 10, 2026; Century City is priced the same way, by the mapped distance. For a day of meetings, a chauffeur by the hour starts at $80 an hour with a four-hour minimum.

Plan the week

What AFM is, what it costs to get in, and how to keep the week moving.

AFM is a marketplace, not a festival: six days of offices, meeting tables, screenings and sessions in one hotel and one cinema. The schedule is dense and the location is a valet-constrained hotel on Avenue of the Stars. Transport that follows your calendar is the difference between making the 9 a.m. meeting and watching the queue.

What AFM is and where it happens

The American Film Market is where producers and distributors license films; AFM states that it is not a festival and runs no competitions or prizes. For 2026 the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City is the headquarters, with hotel rooms set up as sales offices and the Exhibitor Pavilion of meeting tables on level P1. Screenings take place at the AMC Century City 15, and AFM's travel page describes Westfield Century City as steps from the hotel.

Official market hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday, November 10 through Saturday, November 14, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 15. Exhibitor check-in opens Sunday, November 8 from 3 to 6 p.m. (AFM notes Sunday hours may change) and Monday, November 9 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Fairmont Gold Lounge. All exhibitors must vacate by 5 p.m. on the 15th, and there is no storage at the tables.

Badges and registration

Anyone can attend. Attendee badges, for industry professionals not with a sales or accredited buying company, were priced as follows on the official badge page in advance (September 26 to November 5): One-Day $345, Three-Day $495, Three-Day + Sessions $695, Four-Day $695, Four-Day + Sessions $895, Industry $1,045, Platinum $1,395. On site (November 9–14) they run $545 to $1,495. Four-Day badges cover Wednesday to Saturday and Three-Day badges Thursday to Saturday; you cannot pick the days.

Buyers go through separate accreditation, and AFM states that all requests must be submitted by October 16, 2026. AFM hotel rates are booked through links emailed to registered participants and were open until October 15. Lux4Rides is not affiliated with AFM or IFTA and does not sell badges; prices were read on October 10, 2026 and may change.

Arriving from LAX

Give us the flight number when you book so the chauffeur tracks the arrival. The inside-terminal meet and greet, where the chauffeur waits at baggage claim with a name sign, is $60 per booking. One way from LAX to Beverly Hills was $110 in a Comfort Sedan on October 10, 2026; Century City sits beside Beverly Hills and is priced the same way, by the mapped distance in the booking form. Booking the return to the airport at the same time saves 5%.

A sedan carries 3 passengers and 3 bags, a Luxury SUV 7 and 6, an Escalade Elite 6 and 5. Teams on different flights are planned as separate pickups; one chauffeur cannot serve two separate transfers. For a company sending several people, see our corporate transportation page.

Getting there: the Fairmont, the valet problem and where a car can wait

The Fairmont Century Plaza is at 2025 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, CA 90067. AFM's travel page is candid: "Due to extremely limited valet parking at the Fairmont, we strongly encourage attendees to take advantage of the AFM parking options at the Westfield Century City Mall." AFM arranged discounted mall parking passes for registered participants, but registration for them closed on October 16 and none are available after that date.

With a chauffeur the parking question disappears for the passenger. The chauffeur drops you at the hotel entrance, then stages nearby where waiting is permitted rather than in the valet lane; you message when a meeting ends and the car returns to the entrance. For a screening at the AMC Century City 15, tell the chauffeur whether you want a ride or will walk, and where to meet afterwards. Hotel security and traffic direct every vehicle on the day, and no car can hold a space at the door.

  • Hotel-to-meeting runs: list each address and an expected finish time; on an hourly booking the chauffeur stays with you for the whole block and stops are unlimited.
  • Evening events in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood or Santa Monica: add them as stops on the same hourly booking.
  • Delegates staying in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Calabasas or Pasadena, or in Orange County (Irvine, Newport Beach, Long Beach): enter the address in the form; one-way fares are set by the mapped distance.

Timing the days

Market hours start at 9 a.m., and the hotel entrance is busiest as the market opens; a 15-minute buffer before a first meeting is usually enough with a chauffeur, because you are not parking. The market closes at 6 p.m., with dinners across Beverly Hills and the Westside following. Sunday ends at 5 p.m., which is also move-out.

For a full day of appointments, an hourly booking of 8 or 10 hours covers the morning drop, the meeting shuttle, a screening and dinner; the clock starts at your pickup time and extra time is billed at the same hourly rate. For a single transfer, say airport to hotel on Monday the 9th, a one-way fare is simpler. Two transfers never mean the same chauffeur waits between them.

Choosing the service

Hourly chauffeur, or two scheduled transfers?

For market days, compare hourly first: one car that follows your calendar, with unlimited stops and the chauffeur reserved for the block. For the arrival and departure days, two transfers are usually the better value. Both show in full in the booking form with your addresses.

All Lux4Rides prices from the booking form on October 10, 2026, including taxes and fees, before the optional gratuity (20% preselected, adjustable). Hourly service covers about 25 miles of local driving per booked hour; for a long route the form raises the minimum hours. Badge and parking figures are AFM's own and are paid to AFM or the parking operator.

Before you go

Put these on the booking.

Dispatch plans the pickup from what you tell us. Four details save a phone call on the day.

  1. Flight numbers and arrival terminals

For each traveller, so the chauffeur tracks the flight and knows the terminal; add meet and greet for a name sign at baggage claim.

  2. The hotel and the day's meeting addresses

The Fairmont for most; add the AMC Century City 15, other hotels and dinner venues as stops on an hourly booking.

  3. Passengers, bags and materials

Count the people and the cases, including posters and screeners, so the vehicle fits; there is no storage at AFM tables.

  4. One reachable contact per vehicle

The chauffeur texts the car details and meeting point; the contact messages when the meeting ends.
