John Wayne Airport, explained
John Wayne Airport's main building is the Thomas F. Riley Terminal, with Terminals A, B and C side by side. Baggage claim is on the Arrival (lower) level: carousels 1–2 in A, 3–4 in B, 5–7 in C. The airport's rules send pre-arranged charter cars to the lower level's white curb zones or parking areas, and do not allow any car to wait at the curb, so your chauffeur times the pickup to your landing and texts you the meeting point when you have your bags.
The free cell phone lot is for private drivers only; the airport does not allow commercial cars to stage there. Drop-offs use the Departure (upper) level white curbs.
Within the airport's own neighborhood, rides are short: Costa Mesa 3.7 miles, Newport Beach 6.2 miles, Irvine Spectrum 8.8 miles. The beach towns and Disneyland are 13 to 22 miles. Los Angeles is a different trip: Downtown LA is about 40 miles, Beverly Hills about 52, and the booking form's live traffic estimate on a weekday afternoon was 1 hour 21 minutes to 1 hour 59 minutes to Beverly Hills.

Some travelers land at SNA and fly out of LAX, or the reverse. The drive is 43 miles; the form estimated 57 minutes to 1 hour 22 minutes on a weekday afternoon.
